How I pioneered virtual speed dating ― Francoise Merus

Published by

Due to the coronavirus, social life is now becoming a thing of the past and it is gradually becoming a complete gloom for Haitian-born American, Francoise Merus, the founder of social media community called BlackLovePage.com as the core of her business entails networking people for love and business.

With the rampaging COVID-19 that has forced many people to stay glued online to get different contents that would keep them busy, Francoise in a chat with Tribune Online revealed how necessity became the mother of invention for her.

According to her, “Due to Covid-19 BlackLovePage is no longer attending weddings this year so that has impacted business. So, in order to still make revenue in other ways, I created virtual speed dating for people looking for love. I’ve pioneered virtual speed dating worldwide and I am hosting many sessions where single people can sign up to do virtual speed dating,” she said.

Speaking further, she explained what virtual speed dating entails and how it works.

Merus said, “Virtual speed dating is where single people sign up to meet other single people. Using BlackLovePage.com we’ve added a section where people can sign up for their region and meet other single people in a group setting online. Each person will get to spend up to 10 minutes with each person of the opposite sex.

Then by the end, they can select those they are interested in. If they match then we exchange their information. This is how virtual speed dating works; 10 guys 10 women get to engage in conversation with each person for 10 minutes. While at it, they cannot ask anyone for their phone number/contact during private sessions. At the end of the event you will submit to the host who you are interested in and If you match then the host will provide the individuals with their contact info via email.”

Francoise Merus grew up in Haiti as a child, then moved to Miami, Florida where she finished high school, then went to Barry University, also in, Florida where she studied public relations

Three years ago she created a community called BlackLovePage.com. with over half a million followers on Instagram. It’s a cultural website celebrating black excellence and black love. She’s also an author who had published four books about poetry and self-help. She has held a lot of events and has done a lot in controlling the narrative about black love and black excellence.

Francoise Merus is also a world traveller, helping others to travel the world at affordable rates through a platform she created called TheUltimateTravelers.com. She’s a full-time entrepreneur. She is a social media coach and manager.
