How Buhari supported my decision against COVID-19 business ― Yahaya Bello

A presidential aspirant for the 2023 general elections, on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor of Kogi State, Mr Yahaya Bello said he insulated Kogi State from the business of Covid-19 after securing the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Bello who is addressing members of the media in Abuja said he was not alone in the decision but was told by the President to ensure that his state was fully insulated from the novel infection.

His words: “When COVID struck, before I came out to the public to say I don’t want COVID-19 in Kogi State, I sat down with Mr President about the possible causes.

“And I told him, Mr President, this is my belief about COVID-19. And these would happen if we key into this COVID-19 business.

“I returned to the state and prevented COVID-19 and its business from coming to everything I envisioned.”
