The Ministers of Health, Dr Osagie Ohanire, and that of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, have been billed among top government functionaries to inaugurate and induct members of the newly formed Academy of Medicine Specialties of Nigeria (AMSN) at a ceremony fixed for Lagos for this Thursday.
The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, and Minister of State for Health, Dr Olorunnimbe Mamora, are also expected to grace the event.
The President of the academy and professor of Anatomy and consultant reproductive endocrinologist, Oladapo Ashiru, stated this in a statement, saying all the emeritus and foundation fellows of the academy would be inducted at the event.
He noted that the academy was approved by the Federal Government in June 2019 with the aim of promoting excellence in medical research and education towards the enhancement of human health and welfare.
Prof Ashiru added that Dr Sonny Kuku, a co-founder of Ekocorp Plc and another high profile Nigerian endocrinologist is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the academy.
