The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday inaugurated its national campaign council for the November 11 Bayelsa State governorship election with the governor of the state, Duoye Diri affirming that the use of federal might to influence its outcome would not work.
Speaking at the ceremony at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, he assured the President Bola Tinubu would not allow that because, according to him, he is not anti-democracy.
He said he would be returned to office having performed to the satisfaction of the people of the state.
But Diri warned that the main opposition party must not be complacent in view of the alleged negative intentions of his main rival at the poll.
According to him, “When a blind man says he will stone you, he is already sitting on a stone. We must do all that is necessary to remove that stone.”
The governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, is the chairman of the campaign council.
