FOR his outstanding and excellent performance in the health sector, the Society of Family Physicians of Nigeria, Ondo State zone has conferred the Honourary membership award on Ondo State Commissioner for Health, Dr Dayo Adeyanju.
Presenting the award in Akure, the chairman of the society, Ondo State zone, Dr Elihu Medunoye, explained that they have decided to honour the Commissioner in order to appreciate his good work in the health sector since he has been appointed as Commissioner.
According to him, the various landmark achievements in the health sector have now become a benchmark for others in Nigeria and beyond.
While calling on others to emulate the Commissioner for his hard work and dedication to duty, Dr Medunoye reiterated the determination of the society to continue to appreciate and celebrate excellence.
Responding after receiving the award, the Health Commissioner, expressed appreciation for the honour.
Dr Adeyanju, who promised to continue to do his best at all times, equally thanked the Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko for his support and political will which has tremendously helped him to realise his dream.
He described the award as a unique honour, saying that it would spur him to do more.
He later assured the society of government’s support as this would go a long way in achieving a common goal.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr Taye Oni, however thanked the Society of Family Physicians of Nigeria for the award, noting that it’s only a few people that appreciate greatness.
