Network for Jigawa Civil Society Organisation has commended Governor Umar Namadi for the timely approval of the counterpart fund for the procurement of Therapeutic Food for the malnourished children in the state.
The commendation was contained in a press statement issued, signed and made available to Tribune Online in Dutse, Jigawa state capital by the group communication officer, Mr Ibrahim Isyaku said the release of 250 million naira Matching grant to UNICEF is a clear testimony of state government’s commitments to address a number of challenges faced by women and children in the state.
The statement called on the relevant stakeholders to complement the government`s effort by proper utilisation of the food and other interventions.
It also commended UNICEF and other development partners for the support given to the state government and pledged to remain vigilant to ensure that all the support gets to the beneficiaries.
The network also reaffirmed its commitment to complement the government’s principles of the 12-point developmental agenda.
Tribune Online earlier reported that the Jigawa state government released the sum of 250 million as a counterpart fund for the procurement of Ready to Use Traphyat Food (RUTF) to fight acute child Malnutrition in the state.
