Gov Mbah launches new security patrol unit for Enugu metropolis

Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State has launched a new police team to patrol the streets of Enugu, aiming to swiftly respond to security issues in the state. The team is called the Distress Rapid Squad (DRS).

The governor has taken this proactive measure as part of his commitment to the overall well-being of the Enugu citizens and to ensure the state’s rapid economic growth. He recognizes that security is vital for the state to flourish economically.

The Distress Rapid Squad has been created to replace the inactive Police Urban Patrol that has been dormant for a considerable period. Governor Mbah required an active force that could patrol all areas of Enugu to root out dangerous criminals and combat their activities. In Mbah’s Enugu State, there is no place for criminal activities.

To facilitate their operations, the governor has provided numerous vehicles for the squad. The DRS will report to the Chief Security Officer at the Government House in Enugu, which will streamline their response to security emergencies.
