Gov Bago appoints Abubakar Idris as new Niger head of service

The Governor of Niger State, Umaru Bago has approved the appointment of Abubakar Sadiq Idris as the new Head of Service of Niger State.

A statement issued by Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SGS), Alhaji Abubakar Usman stated that the appointment is with immediate effect.

The statement urged the new HOS to discharge his responsibility within the confines of civil service rules and regulations and also bring to bear his cognate experience in his new assignment.

The statement enjoined all civil servants in the state to support and cooperate with the new head of service with a view to consolidating the achievements of his predecessors.

Until his appointment, Abubakar Idris was the Permanent Secretary, General Services, SSG’s Office. He has also worked in many Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), including Ministries of Water Resources, Solid Minerals, Public Service Office among others, the statement added.

According to the statement, “Civil servants in the state are enjoined to always exhibit values such as loyalty, probity, transparency and integrity in the discharge of their assigned duties.”

The statement thanked the immediate past HOS, Abubakar Y. Salisu for his wonderful performances, describing his tenure as exceptional and rewarding.

Governor Bago congratulated the new Head of Service on his appointment and wished him success and God’s guidance in the performance of the arduous duties of his new office, the statement stressed.
