Glitz and glamour as ‘Love Castle’ premieres

Published by

It was a colourful night full of glitz and glamour at Terra Kulture, Lagos, last Saturday as top notch entertainers, members of the cast and crew of the movie – Love Castle, as well as invited guests stormed the venue of the movie premiere in grand style.

Lead characters in the movie, Lateef Adedimeji, Kehinde Bankole, the movie producer, Beatrice Funke Ogunmola (BFO) were all present at the event of the movie premiere. Veteran actor, Segun Arinze, Aduni Ade and the Jenifa diary’s duo of Michael Uba (James) and (Lolo) were also on ground to add glamour to the red carpet.

Speaking on the need for such a movie at this time, the producer of the movie, Beatrice Funke Ogunmola – BFO said: “There is a lot of negativity around Nigerians all over the world today; people believe Nigerians are scammers, this and that. So, there was a need to make a movie that will showcase our culture and who we are to the world.”

To avoid a spoiler, Love Castle is an epic Nigerian movie, which is set to change the way we view Nigerian films. It tells a traditional story of a royal family saddled with the task of getting a new king after the demise of the last king of Iregbogbo kingdom.

The movie ‘Love Castle’ will hit the cinemas on September 10, but it has already been getting the recognition it deserves as it clinched six award nominations at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festivals.

“Love Castle has gotten six award nominations at Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival, TINFF 2021 and hopefully, we’ll be bringing these awards home at their Gala/award night in Canada in October,” BFO said.

These nominations include, Best Film Africa, Best Film Nollywood, Best Actress – Africa Film: Kehinde Bankole, Best Movie Producer: Beatrice Funke Ogunmola, Best African Female Filmmaker: Beatrice Funke Ogunmola, Best Movie Director – Africa: Desmond Elliott.
