TWENTY-four students of the Federal University, Kashere (FUK) in Gombe State, have been expelled from the institution for their involvement in examination malpractice and forgery.

The disclosure was contained in a statement by the head of Information and Protocol of the university, Mr Suleiman Malami, who, stated that the expulsion had been ratified by the management of the institution.

According to the statement, the action taken by the school management followed the recommendations of the Senate of the university which was arrived at during its 68th regular meeting held recently.

The statement reads in part: “The Senate of the university at its 68th regular meeting held on September 23, 202, had considered and approved the expulsion with immediate effect.

“The erring students were found wanting in examination misconduct and forging of results”.

The statement further noted that according to the registrar of the institution, Mr Kabiru Garba-Aminu, arrangements had been concluded for smooth resumption of students in the university for the second semester of the 2020/2021 academic session.

The registrar called on parents to ensure that their wards returned to school in good time as academic activities would commence immediately after registration processes in order to catch up with the remainder of the session.

He, however, reiterated the commitment of the management to providing a conducive learning and teaching environment towards a hitch-free semester.

The registrar further urged the university host communities to cooperate and support the management as well as the students to have a hitch-free atmosphere that would enhance academic and social activities while the institution is in session.
