Students of the Federal Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN), Ibadan, on Tuesday protested over the unlawful invasion of their campus by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
It was alleged that during the invasion, sporadic shootings rented the air, thereby causing panic in the academic community.
Irked by the development, the students blocked all the roads leading to their campus.
Also, the development led to the disruption of the academic and other activities on the campus.
One of the students who preferred anonymity said one of his colleagues was hit by the strayed bullets, but this could not be confirmed.
Efforts to reach the Head of Public Affairs Department, EFCC, Ibadan zonal command, EFCC Egbodofo Olumide, as when filing the report proved abortive.
Also, a text message sent to his mobile line for confirmation of the incident is yet to be responded to.
Information gathered indicates that suspected operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, invaded the college to carry out some arrests.
The operatives allegedly shot sporadically into the air, making the staffers and students scamper for safety.
When filling this report, one of the students was allegedly hit in the foot by bullets from the gunshots of the operatives.
