FG, NAGCC strengthen collaboration to boost business opportunities for SMEs in Dubai Expo

The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Arabian Gulf Chamber of Commerce (NAGCC) to facilitate collaborations for business opportunities for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) at the upcoming Expo 2020 holding in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) in October 2021.

Speaking at the signing of the MoU in Abuja, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo represented by the Director, Legal Services in the Ministry, Barr. Danjuma Muhammad Alhassan said the collaboration was not only limited to trade forum.

He stressed that the partnership will enhance trade and investment promotion which would strengthen the business relationship between Nigeria and the Gulf countries.

According to a statement from Ibrahim Haruna, the minister stated further that the MoU will also enhance the dissemination of vital market information that will boost business opportunities at the upcoming Expo in Dubai.

He explained that the agreement would formalize a collaborative business relationship between the government and the Chamber, emphasising that NAGCC was self-funding and a bilateral trade association dedicated the development of business relationships.

“Cultural and Socio-economic forum between Nigeria and all the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, aimed at the promotion and facilitation of economic relationships, especially in the area of trade, finance and technical support,” Adebayo stressed.

On his part, the representative of the Nigerian Arabian Gulf Chamber of Commerce (NAGCC), Barr. Theodore Mayak, commended the Federal government for the initiative and promised to abide by the content of the MoU for the benefit of both parties.
