FG, citizens should hold one-day prayer to avert war in Nigeria —Adeniyi

General Overseer of Christ the Alpha and Omega Gospel Church, Iyana Church, Ibadan, Oyo State, Reverend Joseph Sunday Adeniyi, has said the Federal Government and all citizens in the country should engage in a one-day prayer session to avert war in the country.

The cleric, in a release made available to the Tribune Church News, said the Lord had revealed to him that Nigerians should engage in the prayer to avert war and ensure restoration of peace afterwards.

“This is not a religious or ethnic issue, but an intercession exercise for all and sundry in the nation, from the number one citizen of the country to the youngest person in the nation,” he added.

According to him, “on the said day, there would be no movement whatsoever, probably total lockdown. In order to ease movement due to lockdown, people should hold the programme in their various worship centres, such as church or mosque, but if it is that they should just make do with the premises of their abode, but not indoors except for the worship centres.”

He further said God called it a day of supplication for Nigeria as a way of avoiding war (Jonah 3:1-10, Jer 29:12-14, 2 Chron 7:14-15).

“The president alongside his cabinet members and the National Assembly will stand in the middle of Eagle Square, Abuja without cap. No man in Nigeria will use cap, head tie or head gear. On the other hand, no woman must leave her head uncovered, as it must be fully covered. All governors, alongside their cabinet members and legislators should follow the same process. This should be replicated at the various palaces of all the kings in Nigeria alongside their chiefs, and all this should be done simultaneously.

“The prayer will involve everyone prostrating outside except for those at the places of worship who will be indoors. Religious leaders, such as Chief Imams and pastors should be given some minutes to talk about supplication after which the prayer of supplication for Nigeria, oneness and unity, total recovery of the country, the Lord shall heal our land.

“God said the leaders should forgive the followers and the followers should forgive the leaders too, after which we should curse whosoever wants to stand against the prayer. After this prayer, there would be so much peace that the citizens would be able to walk freely anytime even as late as 1.00 a.m,” the release stated.

“God said if we can follow instructions to the letter, immeasurable peace will be witnessed and if otherwise, I would submit myself to the authorities where I will be prosecuted to the full weight of the law (Isaiah 1:10),” the release added.
