FCT Police command nabs five suspected kidnappers in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) Police Command has arrested five suspected kidnappers at Kuje and Daki-biu areas in the Nation’s Capital City over the recent kidnappings at Kiyi Village, a suburb of Abuja.

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja, on Monday, by the Spokesperson of the Command, ASP Yusuf Mariam,

According to her, the suspects were arrested during coordinated intelligent operations over the weekend by Police operatives from Dawaki Division and the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad.

She stated that the suspects had already confessed to supplying logistics to the kidnap syndicate operating along Kiyi Village.

According to her, exhibits recovered from the suspects include two AK 47 rifles, one Bajaj motorcycle and 30rounds of live 7.62mm ammunitions while efforts were underway to arrest other members of the syndicate now at large.

She added that all the suspects would be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the on-going investigation.

She further explained that the Command’s Commissioner of Police, CP Bala Ciroma has urged the residents to remain calm and reaffirmed the unflinching commitment of the Police to rid the FCT of every form of criminality and protect the lives and property of residents.
