The Federal College of Education (FCE), Akoka has matriculated 727 students into 19 courses for its Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and Professional Diploma in Education (PDE).
Speaking at the matriculation ceremony held yesterday in Lagos, The College Provost, Dr Wahab Azeez enlightened the matriculants on the fact that it is a pathway to their academic career and development.
Wahab assured that the school’s Academic Staff and Non-Teaching staff are well trained and qualified to pass the required knowlege, training, skills and character needed, adding that the college has remained focus for a long time.
“This indeed is a pathway to your academic career and development, being among the lucky few to be offered admission into acquiring Nigeria Certicate in Education(NCE) and Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) from Federal College of Education (Technical) Akoka, Lagos.
“As can be found in all registered citadel of learning by the Government, all our Academic Staff and Non- Teaching staff are well trained and qualified to pass unto you the required knowlege, training, skills and character needed to be certified as qualified Vocational-Technical Teachers.
“The College has remained focused and committed to the philosophy and values upon which it was established in 1967; to produce qualitative Science, Technical, Business and Vocational Education graduates who in turn, are expected to impact the knowledge to others to utilize their acquired skills in relevant areas to make meaningful impact on the development needs of our dear nation, Nigeria.” Wahab said.
Meanwhile, The Provost noted the security surveillance 24/7 by the College-engaged security men including Close Circuit Television and Cameras to detect any criminally minded persons.
“The College Management has taken security on campus very seriously. There is security surveillance 24/7 by the College-engaged security men including Close Circuit Television and cameras to detect any criminally minded persons.
“It would be appreciated if you can report anyone with suspicious activities in the college. Please note that security is the work of everyone and don’t join anyone who is a security risk to your stay in the college or ouside the college.” The Provost said.
