A fatal automobile accident has claimed the lives of yet to be identified number of people in Bauchi State.
An eyewitness told our correspondent that the accident occurred at about 8 p.m., on Tuesday, at Dungulbi village about 15km away from Bauchi metropolis along the ever-busy but bad Bauchi – Gombe road.
The eyewitness who called our Correspondent said that the accident occurred when the two vehicles from opposite directions had a head-on collision while trying to dodge a pothole along the road.
He said that immediately the two vehicles collided with each other, they both went up in flame with the occupants trapped inside crying for help which could not come due to the intensity of the flame.
The eyewitness said that all efforts to rescue them failed as nobody could go close to the burning vehicles saying, they were burnt while people were just looking helplessly.
As of the time of filing this report, the fire was still burning with all the occupants trapped inside the two vehicles. Neither the Police Command nor FRSC could be reached for comment.
