Environmental health council to develop accounting system software with N25.9m

Environmental Health Registration Council of Nigeria has proposed N25.9 million for the development of software that would advance the accounting system of the agency in 2022, Nigerian Tribune can report.

The 2022 appropriation bill of the agency listed in its Economic Recovery Growth Plan “ERGP 29169535” for the “development of accounting software” for which it proposed the amount of N25,900,000.

The environmental health agency also said it will go into film production of environmental health services, disease prevention and control. Captured in the ERGP 22169294 code line of the budget, it earmarked the sum of N25 million.

The amount would defray the cost of production and airing of the film for public consumption and education, the environmental health registration council stated, in its budget.

N128,700m was also proposed for the “establishment of environmental health laboratories” in the FCT Abuja and was captured in the ERGP30169192.

Another proposal in the research and development budget of the agency was the plan to spend N30m on the procurement of uniforms for the environmental health practitioners nationwide.

This would be complemented with another N20,000,000 captured in its ERGP 22169264 for procurement of environmental health and safety essentials.

To develop her information capacities, the environmental health council proposed the sum of N21 million to the twin chambers of the national assembly for approval.

It reads: “Development of environmental health management system N21,000,000” in its intervention in the various tertiary institutions, the council voted N25,000,000 for “monitoring of environmental health programmes in tertiary institutions (universities, colleges/schools of health technology).”

The council which is billed to appear before the national assembly committees to defend its budget would explain before the committees led by Senator Ike Ekweremadu in the Senate and Hon. Johnson Oghuma in the House of Representatives.
