Operatives of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, on Monday, disclosed that it has arrested 100 residents of the state for alleged by-passing of meters and energy theft.
Speaking at the parading exercise at the NSCDC Command in Osogbo, the state Commandant of the NSCDC, Agboola Sunday, said the criminals have been in their custody in the last seven months for the offences.
While parading those nabbed in the most recent raid conducted by the business firm and security agency on Monday, he gave their names as, Jaye Abayomi, male, 22 years old; Jay Paul, male, aged 37; Abidemi Enoch, male, 33; Jackson Imukoro, 35, Adeleke Fatimah, female, 39; Azeez Mutiu, male, 40 and Michael Sunday, male, 45.
Agboola explained that the arrest was made during several joint operations between officials of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) in the state and operatives of the Osun State NSCDC Command.
The state Commandant however frowned at the inhuman attitude of the evil perpetrators which he said, would continue to engage in economic sabotage through stealing of electricity.
