El-Zakzaky: We are going to appeal, there is no doubt about it ― Govt counsel

The Director of Public Prosecution in Kaduna State Ministry of Justice, Dari Bayero, has said that there is no doubt the state government will appeal the recent ruling that discharged and acquitted the shite leader, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenatu.

Justice Gideon Kurada had, on Wednesday, discharged and acquitted El-Zakzaky and his wife on all the charges brought before his court.

However, Dari Bayero said who was the prosecution counsel in the case disclosed in an interview, “We are going to appeal, there is no doubt about it.

He added, “in fact, we have obtained the court judgement because we are not in agreement with my Lord’s reasoning and conclusion, it is not in consonance with the facts on the ground.”

Meanwhile, El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenatu have jetted out to Abuja where they would have access to medical services.

It was gathered that attempt by the couple to leave Kaduna State, on Wednesday, after the judgement was not possible as they arrived at the airport after the control tower had closed.

However, on Thursday, the shite leader and his wife in the company of family members and well-wishers arrived at the Kaduna International Airport at 8:30 am where they boarded a chartered flight for Abuja.

It was gathered that their flight took off from the Kaduna International Airport at 8:50 am.

While in Abuja, it was learnt they will be attended to by a team of medical personnel as both of them are suffering from different health challenges.”
