The Edo State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Henry Benamaisia, on Sunday, said that the Sector had deployed 1,250 personnel for a hitch-free Sallah celebration.
Benamaisia added that the deployment was to ensure an accident-free motoring environment during the Sallah celebration.
“We are deploying 1250 officers for Sallah to ensure our roads are free of accidents. Aside the personnel, we are also deploying 25 patrols vehicles, two heavy-duty tow truck vehicles, one tow van, three ambulances across the state in order to ensure quick response services,” he disclosed.
The deployment, he noted, would ensure that critical corridors and other parts of the state were adequately covered, while areas prone to traffic grid lock would be manned to ensure free movement of vehicles.
The Sector Commander listed the critical corridors to include Benin-Ekiadolor-Ovia -Okada-Ohosu road, Benin-Iruekpen-Ekpoma, Ewu-Agbede-Auchi-Auchi,(4)Benin-Okhuahe-Ogheneki-Agbor road, Benin-Ologbo axis among others.
He advised road users to endeavour to cultivate the habit of discipline, patient, maintain lane discipline and tolerance as well as obey traffic laws and FRSC operatives as they travel through the state.
