Last time we began looking at the issue of partnerships. We saw that there is no way we can live our dreams without the direct or indirect input of others. We all need teams to make our dreams to work whether collaborators, facilitators, family, mentors, partners, staff etc.
“Teams are incredible things. No task is too great, no accomplishment too grand, no dream too far-fetched for a team. It takes teamwork to make the dream work.” John Maxwell
No man is complete all by himself. The combined activities of the people we collaborate with in teams and partnerships ought to produce a result far beyond what our individual efforts can.
“It’s better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth. And if one falls down, the other helps, But if there’s no one to help, tough!” Ecclesiastes 4.9-10
Effective team is especially critical in leadership. Leadership can never be effective as a one man band. A leader must be able to raise a good team. He must be able to identify the peculiar traits, gifts and skills that each member of his team is bringing to the table. Round pegs must be put in round holes. This is the only way that different people with different gifts would work harmoniously to achieve the same big picture.
“Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.” Andrew Carnegie
We cannot overemphasize the benefits of having a good team.
Benefits of teamwork
“It’s better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth. And if one falls down, the other helps. But if there’s no one to help, tough!’ Ecclesiastes 4:9-10.
“Many of us are more capable than some of us, but none of us is as capable as all of us.” Tom Wilson
“Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.” Michael Jordan
“The best thing about teamwork is the concept of synergies. One common thing in each of the best teamwork quotes mentioned above is to work towards a common goal or purpose. When two or more people bring their talents, ideas, and expertise to the table, the resulting output is always greater than the sum of their efforts. This, in other words, is called synergy.” nTaskmaager.com
“The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.” Phil Jackson
