Don’t elect non-indigene as your governor, Bala Mohammed urges Bauchi citizens

As politicking for the 2023 general elections is gradually picking up, electorate in Bauchi State have been warned against electing a non-indigene as the governor of the state if what they want is development.

The warning was given by Bauchi State, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, while speaking over the weekend while interacting with politicians in Alkaleri, headquarters of Alkaleri LGA.

The governor particularly warned citizens of the state against voting for especially those who came from neighbouring countries but claiming indigeneship of the state with the backing of some individuals.

Bala Mohammed who addressed PDP ward leaders in Alkaleri local government area of the state at an interactive session with them held in the area said that citizens of the state must desist from electing non-indigenes into elective positions especially the office of the governor in order to avoid what he described as underperformance.

According to him, “electing indigenes into elective positions would enable them be interacting with their constituents to solve their major challenges so as to meet their yearning and aspirations.”

He added that “I want to warn the people of Bauchi State against electing non-indigenes especially those coming from Cameroun as they don’t have anything to offer for your development.”

The Governor stressed that “If they can come for business, we will welcome them but not for politics because politics is for people who know the values of their people.”

Bala Mohammed appreciated the PDP ward leaders in the Alkaleri Local Government Area for their support to his administration enjoining them to sustain the tempo for the success of the PDP led government in the state.

The governor further said that despite the numerous achievements recorded by his administration in the delivery of dividends of democracy, the opposition has refused to come to terms with the reality on the ground but engages in vain negative campaign of calumny against the government and his person.

He, however, assured that his administration will do more for the overall development of the state because according to him, “you elected us to work for you, and work we will continue to do until the last day in the office.”

Speaking Earlier, PDP Chairman in Alkaleri local government, Alhaji Babayo reaffirmed the support and cooperation of members to the governor to enable him to achieve the desired objectives.

He stressed that the LGA was proud to have its own son as the governor of the state and will therefore stop at nothing in ensuring that he achieved his aim of standing to be elected.
