Delta Assembly approves Gov Oborevwori’s request to appoint 20 Special Advisers

Twenty Special Advisers were on Tuesday approved by Delta state house of assembly for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

The governor’s request for the aides which was contained in a message to the house was read at plenary by the Speaker, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor and unanimously approved.

Oborevwori explained in the message that the speacial advisers are to assist in driving the administration’s development agenda.

Meanwhile the house has screened and confirmed the nominees for appointment into the Delta State Advisory Council on the Prerogative of Mercy as forwarded by the state governor.

Those confirmed include retired Justices Celestina Ogisi, as Chairman, Prof Loius Ojogwu, Alexander Neyin, Dr Iris Jewo Ibi, Augustine Eseagwu, Festus Onyaeju, and Mrs Uju Rosaline Monye.

Oborevwori had in the letter conveying names of the nominees , said the appointment followed the need for reconstitution of the Advisory Council as a result of the expiration of the tenure of members.
