“The meeting was held between the various clusters and community development board in OML 26. It has different interpretations concerning their GMOU.

“I am hopeful that the progress we made today will go a long way in cementing the smooth operation of the GMOU and the peaceful coexistence between the various communities that fall within the clusters.

“Naturally, we could not conclude everything today, but we have made a very good start.

“I am glad that this has given us a platform on which we can build on lasting solutions.

Mr Bozimo, while appreciating the communities further for living in peace with the oil companies, commended them for equally extending their cooperation to the Delta State government.

He, however, appealed to them to always channel their grievances to the appropriate agencies of government for a peaceful resolution, assuring that the state government was always ready to assist them whenever the need arose.
