The National Coordinator SERVICOM, Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli, has applauded the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), for their love for the nation to call off its month-long strike at Customers Service Week.
Akajemeli, who gave the commendation at a press conference in Abuja to mark “Customers Service Week”, also commended Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 (PTF), for their efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and other professional bodies for their concerns to render quality service to Nigerians.
It is recalled that in August, the doctor’s union embarked on strike, following a disagreement with the Federal Government over the non-availability of medical equipment at public, tertiary hospitals among other issues.
According to Akajemeli, SERVICOM is keying into the global customers’ service week being marked globally to appreciate institutions, private individuals who have contributed in one way or the other to satisfy Nigerians in the discharge of their duties.
“We are celebrating a heart of service for those who served with commitment, dedication and creativity, we are also proposing to celebrate our key stakeholders who have collaborated with us in making service delivery a subject of national discourse.
“We are appreciating all those who have innovatively rendered services, such as our medical personnel, the PTF, the Nigeria Police Force, the media, International Organisations, who work assiduously in sustaining service improvement in spite of COVID-19 pandemic.”
Others, she mentioned as to work with Ministries Departments and Agencies, to raise awareness of the impact that service windows have on customers experience with the brand.
According to Akajemeli, the week celebration is an opportunity for service and support professionals around the globe to join in the celebration of the important role that customer service plays in every organisation.
It is recalled that Customer Service Week is an international celebration during the first full week in October to celebrate the importance of customer service and of the people who serve and support customers on a daily basis.
