The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State, has vowed to recover its seized Party Secretariat and office furniture allegedly seized by the All Progressive Congress (APC)-led government of Governor Ben Ayade, who defected to the APC.
PDP State Publicity Secretary, Prince Mike Ojisi made the vow while speaking at the inaugural State Executive Committee, SEC, meeting of the party held in Calabar the state capital.
According to the party’s claim, besides the Secretariat, the party would also recover three buses which the party said were converted to personal property by its erstwhile party chairman.
The Publicity Secretary stated that the PDP has constituted a new party executive that would do everything within its reach to resist the planned sale of state assets to cronies of the state governor.
Ojisi said that the new SWC had resolved: “To explore all legitimate avenues to recover the party Secretariat and all relevant property, including the three buses which the erstwhile chairman Ntufam Edim Inok, is alleged to have converted to his personal property by changing their ownership details.
“To pursue, mobilise and sensitise the citizens of Cross River State to resist any attempt to sell assets to family members and cronies of the current administration.
“The SWC also set up a high powered establishment committee to assess the immediate administrative needs, and recommend comprehensive immediate takeoff needs for administrators of the party”, he added.
SWC which has four committee members to be headed by the State Secretary of the party, Tony Edako, appreciated the national working committee of the party, national assembly members, immediate past Caretaker Committee and all stakeholders for midwiving the great rebirth of the party.
Ojisi stated that with the inauguration of the new party Exco, PDP had declared a road to freedom with the people in the state.
