Cross River: Invite Obi’s running mate for questioning, APC tells DSS

The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Cross River, has called on the Department of State Security (DSS) to with immediate effect, invite the Vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Datti Baba-Ahmed.

The APC’s Call for Datti’s arrest, according to the party, is “due to his comments on National Television, where he spoke against swearing in President-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, by the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.”

In a press briefing on Thursday afternoon in Calabar, the state party chairman, Alphonsus Ogar Eba said nobody should be allowed to truncate Nigeria’s Hard earned Democracy.

“I was watching Channels Television yesterday, and I saw that Release. Again on the 23rd of March, on Channels, I watched Datti Ahmed, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, where he categorically said that the Chief Justice of Nigeria, should not swear in our President-elect.

“And that they will be no swearing in. That statement was too strong and appears to have some coloration, that is what we call circumstantial evidence in law. It might not be firm, it might not be correct, but that nexus that connects that, he should please come and clarify, whether he intends to get a Court injunction,” Alphonsus Eba said.

The APC state chairman, however, asked all their members, and residents of Cross River state to embark on Fasting and Prayers to avert a possible truncation of the government transition on May 29, 2023.
