Corps members
Following the reported cases of COVID-19 in the NYSC orientation camps in some states of the country, the NYSC authorities in Kebbi State said no COVID-19 case is in its camp.
The Public Relations Officer(PRO) of the NYSC in the state Mrs Idris Hadiza Doom, in a chat with the Tribune Online yesterday explained that no corps member in the Kebbi orientation camp is carrying the virus.
“They have been tested, the test was carried out by a team of medical personnel and none of them was found with the virus. All camp officials were also tested, none of them were found with the virus as well,” she said.
She explained further that hand washing points were erected at strategic places, with liquid soap, hand sanitisers are also provided at these strategic places for continuous usages by corp members and camp officials as well.
Mrs Idris also said the wearing of facemask is very compulsory for every participant at the ongoing orientation camp.
In another development, the newly posted Commissioner of Police to Kebbi State, Alhaji Musa Baba, has resumed duty in Birnin-Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi State.
Baba took over from Mr Adeyinka Adeleke Bode who was promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police(AIG) and posted to zone 8 in Umuahia.
In a press release made available to Tribune Online and signed by the Police Public Relation Officer(PPRO), Nafiu Abubakar said the new Commissioner of Police hails from Darazo LGA of Bauchi State.
The release stated that Musa Baba promised to consolidate the legacies of his predecessor by strengthening the existing cordial relationship with critical stakeholders in the state, as well as providing adequate security of lives and properties of people across the state.
