Olusegun Runsewe, Director General, National Council for Arts and Culture
Justice Jude Okeke of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), sitting at Maitama, Abuja, today sent the Director-General of the Nigerian Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, to jail for contempt of court.
The judge sentenced Runsewe to jail while ruling on a motion for committal of the NCAC Director-General to prison filed by Ummakalif Limited.

The motion, dated June 21, 2019, emanated from a suit filed by Ummakalif Limited against the FCT Minister; Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA); the Director-General National Council for Arts and Culture, and the Minister of Culture and Tourism.
The motion, which was brought before the court pursuant to Order 47 Rule 10 (1), (2) and (3) of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory Civil Procedure Rules 2018, sought an order of court committing Otunba Runsewe, who is the third defendant in the suit, to prison for contempt of the order of court made on December 15, 2017.
