Corpse of university lecturer recovered in Benue

The corpse of a lecturer with the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Dr Aondoana Karl Kwagher has been found in Makurdi, the state capital.
The body of the late lecturer who until his death, an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the University was found dead late hours of Saturday.
According to report, the body was found with injury on his head, indicating that he must have been hit with a hard object in the head after which the assailant went ahead and slit his throat before leaving the scene.
Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), FUAM Chapter, Dr Ameh Ejembi confirmed the report but said that he did not have details of his death.
Also, confirming, the state command spokesperson, DSP Catherine Anene said that police on patrol found the corpse of the lecturer between the hours of 10 and 11 pm on Saturday.
Anene said: “We just saw the corpse at Tarka foundation in the pool of his blood, it looks like he was stabbed with a knife.
“We saw the corpse between 10 and 11 pm, so he must have been killed about an hour earlier.”
Anene said that there was no car around the vicinity where the corpse was found.
She, however, said “if he was driving along that area, it means the vehicle was taken away from him,” adding that investigation will reveal what happened to him.
