Coalition to honour Makinde’s giant strides in governance

Coalition of Ethnic Nationalities Youth Leaders of Nigeria (CENYLON), the umbrella body of all ethnic nationalities youth leaders in Nigeria and development groups, has disclosed its readiness to celebrate and honour the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on his giant strides so far since assumed office.

The Coalition made this known after rising from a meeting which took place in Abuja, saying that Governor Makinde had done a lot in line with the sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s vision towards the progress of Nigeria, to deserve to be honored and celebrated.

CENYLON, in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday by its spokesperson, Alhaji Abubakar Sulieman, noted that Governor Makinde had, since he assumed office as Oyo State helmsman, changed the tide in the state positively with numerous development projects and people-oriented programmes.

“The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has done a lot in line with Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s vision towards the progress of Nigeria, to deserve to be honored and celebrated. The governor has, since he assumed office as Oyo State helmsman, changed the tide in the state positively with numerous development projects and people-oriented programmes.

“To this end, the Coalition of Ethnic Nationalities Youth Leaders of Nigeria (CENYLON) has resolved to organize a beautiful event of honour for him based on his giant achievements among the governors in Nigeria,” the group said.

The group described the Oyo State governor as a man of peace, wisdom and vision, “who saw the need to develop young people so that they can play their societal role as leaders of tomorrow.”

This was just as it equally commended Governor Makinde for tackling issues of insecurity bedeviling the state and for prioritizing education, health, infrastructure, among others in the state.
