A cleric and the newly enthroned Diocesan Bishop of Osun Anglican Communion, Right Reverend Dr Foluso Olugbenga Babatunji on Thursday charged Nigerians to exhibit good virtues that can promote the development of the society.
The cleric said it is imperative for all irrespective of religious, ethnic and political affiliation to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the nation by embracing hard-work, honesty and adhering to the laws of the country.
Babatunji gave the charge while delivering a sermon during the inauguration of the ministry and his enthronement as the Diocesan Bishop of Osun Anglican Communion, which was held at the Cathedral of All Saints, Balogun-Agoro, Osogbo.
While admonishing the people to move closer to God and obey his commandments, the cleric said Christians must be prepared for the second coming of the Lord Jesus, saying the trumpet signalling the end of the world may be heard any moment as a prelude to rapture.
Quoting from the book of Genesis, chapter 21, verse 8 and Matthew chapter 24, verse 30, Babatunji said “we are celebrating weaning today, graduating from one stage to the other. It is promotion. As you have come out to celebrate with me, people will celebrate you.”

According to him, “God uses the time to bless people. But time doesn’t bless people but uses some individuals to draw out the blessings to the people. There are purpose and time for everything. My time would bring forth blessings for Osun diocese.”
“Osun belongs to Christ and Christ shall rule over this land. The power of the spiritual shall be unleashed on this land. God approves you when you do the work he asks you to do. Nigerians should not wait until they become ministers of God before doing good in their respective society.”
“The rapture will come when the angels appear in heaven to blow the trumpet. If you live your lives according to the dictates of the Lord after being saved, you will receive the blessings of God”, Babatunji remarked.
Dignitaries at the enthronement service include clergies from Anglican Communion of Remo Diocese, Ilesa Diocese, the Archbishop of Ibadan Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop of Ibadan North Diocese (Anglican Communion), Most Reverend Dr Segun Okubadejo, among others.
