The Federal Capital Territory Administration has continued to intensify its community sensitisation to check cholera and other severe acute diarrhoeal diseases in the territory.
FCT Minister of State, Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, stated this at the continuation of community sensitization on cholera in Pyakasa and Gwagwa, Abuja, as the death toll reached 60.
Dr Ramatu Aliyu also said suspected cases of cholera had risen from 604 to 698 within 72 hours.
She however assured that the Administration would do everything within its power to prevent residents from the scourge of the disease..
In his remarks, the Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council, Abdullahi Adamu Candido, pledged the commitment of his council to embark on a sensitisation tour to all the four chiefdoms in AMAC towards enlightening the traditional rulers on preventive measures of cholera.

True! Consuming Rotten Tomatoes May Cause Liver Cancer
CLAIM: A Facebook user claims that the consumption of rotten tomatoes, popularly known as Esa in South-West Nigeria, can cause liver cancer.
VERDICT: The claim that the consumption of rotten tomatoes can cause liver cancer is true. The WHO noted that consuming mycotoxins found in rotten tomatoes can lead to long-term effects such as immune deficiency and cancer.
FULL STORY: A Facebook user, Adebisi Yusuff Adebayo, in a post, claimed that rotten tomatoes contain fungi which produce a toxin that may cause liver cancer.
According to the post, boiling and frying it does not help remove the fungi completely.
