Cholera: Death toll rises as FCT records 69

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), on Friday, confirmed that cholera deaths in the territory have risen to 69.

Acting Secretary, FCT Health and Human Services Secretariat (HHSS), Dr Mohammed Kawu, who briefed newsmen after the meeting of FCT Emergency Committee with the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, said the cases, as of July 30, have risen to 69.

According to him: “We have over 1,000 cases across the territory which have been treated and discharged.”

He said major flashpoints have been identified and efforts were on by the FCT Administration to curb the increase of cases.

“Bwari is the epic centre in the territory followed by AMAC,” he announced.
