Chief of Defence Staff, visits Anambra, read riot acts to criminals

Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, says the military will go offensive against kidnappers, bandits, cultists and all criminals operating in Nigeria and Anambra State in particular.

General Irabor stated this, on Thursday, when he called on the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano, at his Aguleri country home in Anambra East local government area.

Speaking immediately after a closed-door meeting with the governor, General Irabor revealed that his visit is to exchange views and compare notes with the Governor over the unfolding scenario within the security environment in Anambra State, pointing out that information has been exchanged.

He assured that the military will synergise with other security agencies to restore peace in the state.

While warning criminals against indulging in criminal activities within Anambra and beyond, General Irabor assured residents that criminality will be seriously dealt with forthwith.

Governor Obiano, in his receiving speech, revealed that General Irabor visited the state on the directive of President Mohammadu Buhari, to help Anambra sort out the security challenges within the state.

While giving assurances that people of the state will continue to sleep with their eyes closed, the Governor hinted that he held a brief discussion with him and mapped out a few measures and strategies to aid their operation.

Obiano added that some major decisions were taken, all in a bid to keep Anambra secure and prosperous.
