Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti
I give kudos to Pa Reuben Fasoranti for stepping down as Afenifere leader. British philosophical write James Alien said, “He who would accomplish little must sacrifice little, he who would achieve much must sacrifice much, he who would attain highly must sacrifice greatly.”
To be honest, we all know that Pa Fasoranti is a great man who has the interest of the Yoruba and Nigeria at heart and he has achieved greatly before becoming a leader of Afenifere. He is a source of pride to us in Yoruba land; he made history in Nigeria as the first person to step down as leader of Afenifere for Chief Ayo Adebanjo.
It is imperative for all Yoruba both home and abroad to recognise the activities of Pa Fasoranti and also to commend him for purposeful and unbiased leadership while serving as Afenifere leader in Nigeria. He is a reliable leader and a man of integrity. At 95, he is physically fit and mentally sound to lead.
I want to commend him for stepping down for Chief Ayo Adebanjo, a lawyer and a brilliant man. I wish Pa Fasoranti well in his endeavour in life. We need to appreciate our leaders who have contributed meritoriously to the development of our nation. Nigerian politicians should emulate Pa Fasoranti by stepping down for the youths to lead.
