Can I have a baby at 50?

Published by

I recently remarried after a widowhood of 5 years. Now I am under pressure by my in laws to have a baby for my new husband because of the belief that a baby will enhance our marriage. I am however worried by the likely health hazards of having a baby at my age. Kindly advise.

Even though modern technology has allowed elderly women to have babies, this is usually done at great financial and physical risks. Therefore, I agree with you that you should be concerned with your health as well as that of the unborn baby. In addition, there are many successful marriages without any biological children.   Whatever decision you finally take, make your health as well as that of the unborn baby important priorities.
