Can I eat eggs at 50?

Published by

I recently read on the social media that it is not good for someone over the age of 50 to eat eggs. Kindly advise me.

The controversy surrounding eggs has been going on for many years. For a long time, the medical community believed that eggs caused high cholesterol, and other cardiovascular problems, so people were afraid to eat eggs. Now, after 20 or 25 years of that, eggs have been found to be a perfect food. If at 50, you eat a healthy diet, with lots of varied foods, plenty of vegetables, whole grains, not too much sugar or fat, and you move around daily, then having an egg or 2 as part of your overall protein intake should be fine. Of course, you should be seeing your doctor for your regular, annual medical examination.
