CAC president tasks pastors over role

President,  Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Supreme Council, Pastor Gabriel Lagunju, has charged pastors of the church to see themselves as servants of God with the responsibility of taking people into His vineyard.

He gave the admonition at the ordination of more than 800 pastors, who graduated from the church’s Bible colleges and the closing ceremony of the annual Pastors’ Conference of the church, held at the C. A. C. Ile Aanu, Alasepe Prayer Ground, Ikire, Osun State.

He said as men of God that members of the church looked up to guidance in every facet of life, they had a duty to direct them aright,  stating that preaching going to heaven should be their focus at all times.

According to him, with their ordination they should be prepared to move closer to God without whom they cannot make success of their calling.

He noted that their lives should serve as examples to their congregation who see them as the representatives of God on earth.

He said: “With your ordination today, you are being positioned for higher calling and more than any other time, it is an opportunity for you to further move closer to God who is the author and finisher of our faith. You have no excuse to fail Him because He is the only one that can call one.

“And most importantly, you have a duty to take members of the church to God in order to reign with him in heaven; what should be upper in your mind is that  you must not fail God in the task assigned to you.”

While lauding the peace that had been reigning in the church towards achieving unity between the two factions of CAC, the Supreme Council and General Executive Council (GEC), Pastor Lagunju charged members of the church to continue to pray for the divine intervention to make the peace permanent.

He assured that the Supreme Council, under his leadership, was be prepared to build on the peace achieved so far, maintaining that the unity of the Christ Apostolic Church was not negotiable.
