Buhari, APC have fooled Nigerians, Secondus says

Published by
The National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, on Tuesday, said Nigerians have been fooled by President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Secondus bemoaned the untold hardship Nigerians are currently facing under the APC led government, stated this at a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Unification Meeting held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.
According to him, the level of hunger, suicide, kidnappings and killings of innocent Nigerians under the Buhari led administration is unprecedented.
He noted that the APC government had been characterised by bad governance, calling on members of the PDP to come together and start the process of rebuilding the party in the State.
“Nigerians have been fooled by the Buhari government. Today, you hear how they talk about how many people they have lifted out of poverty.  Do they have any economic blueprint? The economy has collapsed. Nigeria is divided. We are being disgraced outside the country. The woes of this government are continuing every day.
“For how long can we oppressed. For how long can we be intimidated. For how long can we continue to kill our selves. There is so much hunger, killing in the land. We have never witnessed such before. The number of people that have been killed since the inception of this APC government is so much that you can’t place the record.”
“Every day you wake up to hear the killings in Zamfara, Taraba, Benue  Enugu and across the border because of bad governance. There is no state in Nigeria which there have not been killings and suicide. We must rise and unite ourselves because we are all Democrats. The entire world is watching. “
“Nigerian people are also watching.  The election conducted in February and March, You are all aware of results.  That result is subject today in the law court. We are not allowed to talk about it, but the country is watching it. The will of God must be done.  If you like,  delay it, if you like intimidate the people or do anything you want to do, but one day…” he stated.
Secondus also disclosed that the party would hold congresses at ward, local government, and state levels for a completely new structure of the party next year.
The Party Chairman who welcomed members of opposition parties who decamped to Ogun PDP noted that party members were free to contest for positions they desire, assuring that there will be equity, transparency, with all constitutional bottlenecks waived away.
In his remarks, Adebutu rallied the support and unity of members of the party. He decried the bad leadership of the APC government, stressing that the PDP is the country’s best hopes of good governance.
He disclosed that while he remains in the Ogun governorship contest, those interested in the race within the party are welcome to compete with him.
“We need to have good governance. We need to win as a people and as a party in Ogun State. For this reason, or provision of good governance, we must act united. In that process, I have said and let it be clear, I have done a lot of work. I have ambition, but I beg so that we can have the best, anyone desirous of any position or even becoming the governorship candidate in Ogun State, please step forward and compete with me.
“Let more people come out and compete, it is good for the party. When more people compete, we shall have constructive competition.  The party will be lubricated. Have no fear, the system will be free, transparent and equitable. There’s nothing reserved for anybody.  For the sake of our communities, let us build this party that can win and bring us good governance.” he added.
