Dapo Abiodun returned elected for second term in Ogun

The incumbent Governor of Ogun State and candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Prince Dapo Abiodun, has been declared winner of the just concluded gubernatorial elections returning him elected with a total of 276 298 votes.

The Collation Officer of the Independent Electoral Commission in Ogun State, Professor Kayode Adebowale, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, announced this on Sunday, 19th March 2023.

Adebowale announced that Dapo Abiodun of the APC won with  276,298 votes, giving him a 10,000 lead ahead of his PDP competition, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, who polled 262383.

While the candidate of the erstwhile governor of the State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Biyi Otegbeye of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), polled 94,854 votes.

Abiodun won in 13 out of 20 local government areas in the state and was closely followed by Adebutu, who won seven out of nine local government areas in Ogun East Senatorial District and one LG in Ogun Central.
