Bowen University
In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic which eventually caused a lockdown of economic activities in Nigeria, education inclusive, for the past few months, Bowen University’s academic activities for the second semester have been going on via the institution’s Smart School Hub (SSHUB), an online platform designed for learning interaction from the students’ individual homes.
Tribune Online gathered that the university had been able to complete the second semester’s academic activities with the students in all the colleges through online teaching and learning, which resulted in the conduct of the first online examination that commenced on Monday.

According to the Chancellor, Professor Joshua Ogunwole, in a statement issued from the university’s protocol and public relations office and made available to the Tribune Online on Monday, the institution had released guidelines for the examination on the university’s website early enough to prepare the students for the online examination.
The statement read in part: “No distraction and interference during the online examination period, as the university has zero-tolerance for examination malpractices. It is an examination offence for students to block the cameras of their computers while the examination is ongoing and parents should limit their meddling during the period.
“Students who are yet to balance their tuition are not eligible to write the examination, but will have theirs at a later date with an additional fee.”
Professor Ogunwole stated that the school bursar will be available to assist parents or students who are ready to offset their bills.
