Bichi Emirate Council expresses readiness to accept new district head

The Bichi Emirate Council has expressed its readiness to accept the installation of a new district head, Munir Sunusi Bayero, who was appointed by Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II.

The council, led by the local government chairman, Hamza Sule Maifata, Chief Imam of the local government, Mallam Lawan Abubakar, and the chairman elders forum, Mallam Isyaka Bichi, stormed the 16th Emir’s Palace in solidarity with the Emir’s decision.

The Bichi Emirate Council reaffirmed their loyalty to Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, stating that they were fully behind him.

The Emir, in response, thanked the council for their support and assured them that the installation of the new district head would take place peacefully.

Emir Sanusi II emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and prayerfulness, even in the face of challenges.

The development comes after the ancient city of Kano was thrown into confusion last week when armed security personnel sealed off the palace of the Emir over the appointment.
