Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi has appealed to journalists to be more of developmental reportage to encourage good governance and effective public service delivery in their reportage and feature articles.
The governor made the appeal while receiving reporters of media representatives practicing in the state when paid him a courtesy visit in his office, advising them to always abide by the ethics of their profession, media law and its guiding practicing principles in conducting their job.
Malam Umar Namadi described journalists as key stakeholders providing and maintaining peace, unity and progress of the state and nation at large.
According to the governor “Please report us accordingly, but avoid writing any unbalanced report, because if you write unbalance story you cannot sleep as your conscious will not allow you for doing wrong job”.
He stated further that “Our request to you area , to always tray to be objective and balance in your reportage, to put Jigawa corporate existence peace and progress above any interest, to join your hand in our quest for building a prosperous and Greater Jigawa”.
Malam Namadi stated Journalists are key stakeholders in promoting good governance, delivering effective public service, peace unity and progress of any government and society”.
Speaking during the visit, the chairman of the Correspondent Chapel Comrade Muhammad Zangina said, the members of the union were at government house to congratulate the Governor for his successful inauguration into office.
Comrade Zangina told the Governor that, the working journalist in the state would join hands with the government to promote peace unity and progress in the State.
