Dear children, it’s time to go back to school! Thanks to God who kept you all throughout the holiday. Now that you will resume school activities in a few days, I want you to read some pieces of advice from school administrators which I believe will help if you make use of them. Aunty Yemi wishes you good health, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, safety and God’s blessings on your parents in order to supply your every need. I wish you success throughout the new session. Happy Resumption!
Holidays are usually a season looked forward to by most students for various reasons. It’s a period of momentary break from the rigour of school work. Students can sleep a bit longer than before, they put their minds off regular school assignments, and there is a change in their daily routines. Some of the virtues that will help you include self discipline, punctuality and smart dressing.
As you get set for the resumption of academic work, you should build your mindset for an experience beyond the four walls of the classroom. You should note that every part of the school work is a learning process that prepares you for the future of your dream.
-Dr Babatunde Giwa, Director of schools, Best Legacy International Schools, (Crèche, Nursery, Primary, Secondary), Awe, Oyo State.
It is a great pleasure to welcome you all back to school for the 2021/2022 academic session.
I feel privileged to be in a position to reach you as students and to encourage you to aspire to succeed.
Be ready at all times to use the opportunities at your disposal to become confident, thoughtful young people who are prepared for any future challenges, in an exciting and increasingly global world.
Set goals that will make you successful in the new session and do away with bad peer groups. Be reminded that time waits for no man and you are expected to make the best of your time by studying very hard.
Be determined to succeed despite the challenges you may face at any instance.
Pertinently, I want to charge you all to buckle up and bring your A-game so that our dreams, aspirations and prayers for you will come to fruition.
Once again, I want to welcome you back to the new academic session and pray for you that you shall all attain the greatest height you desired in Jesus’ name, Amen.
See you at the top!
-Mrs O. O. Babatunde, Principal, Epe Girls’ Senior High School, Epe, Lagos.
Children, you have spent weeks holidaying and now have to go back into the school system.
You must review the previous term’s assessment reports and results to know your areas of strength and weakness. I admonish you not to repeat the mistakes of the previous term, so prepare your mind to work hard and succeed.
Do not go to school a new term with wears you have outgrown. Whether you will buy new school wears or patch the old ones; make sure you do not dress to school awkwardly on the resumption day.
Cooperate with your parents as they will try to create safe landing for your learning processes after the holiday. In fact, you getting back into the system would be a daunting task after fun-filled weeks of holiday. The drill of rising early, going to school, classroom activities and writing assignments would be new to your systems. However, in the remaining days, you can ask your parents to download some leaning games, “wake-up” that can help you to face the new academic challenges. You must also pray for divine wisdom, knowledge and understanding because prayer is the key.
Lastly, we are a nation faced with security uncertainties. You must as a matter of urgency, learn how to live safely.
-Mrs Teniola Omolola Oluwasola, Director of Schools, Sharon Rose Schools and College, Gedu Estate, Saki, Oyo State.
Dear students, as you begin another session, be determined be focused. As I tell my students, we are a school which is child-centered, and so all our efforts, our work and our endeavors revolve around the achievements of each student’s potential, academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Ensure you do not cut the expectation of your parents short as they carry out their responsibilities of making you realize your goals; therefore, you are expected to work hard academically.
I wish all success, good health and God’s protection as we enter another new academic session.
God bless you all.
-Dr Kayode Fasola, Executive Director, Kingston College, Ibadan.
