ASHH foundation trains 15 women on skills acquisition in Bauchi

15 women have been trained on makeups, hairstyling and headgear tying and equipped with the starter kits for the acquired skills by Attah Sisters Helping Hand (ASHH) Foundation under its skill acquisition program.

Speaking at the conclusion of the training given to the beneficiaries in Bauchi, Executive Director of ASHH Foundation, Ms Comfort Ene Attah, explained that the training exercise was supported by Women for Women International, a donor agency.

Represented at the occasion by one of the Directors of the Foundation, Ms Cecilia Dala, ASHH Foundation Executive Director said that the selected women were trained for six weeks on make-up and hairdressing and are expected to go full scale into the skills acquired.

Comfort Attah also said that her Foundation in collaboration with the Women for Women International organized the training in order to encourage the acquisition of skills as a way of reducing unemployment among women and youths.

She then advised the participants of the training to put to effective use the skills they acquired during the training as well as ensure that they handled the kits given to them with care so that they will be last long.

In her remarks, one of the beneficiaries of the training and the kits, Milka Jude said that they were taken through advanced training on makeups and styling saying that, “we are now professionals and ready to display our skills.”

Milka Jude who showed excitement said that “I have started having clients as I can confidently do make-up, different hairstyles and tying of headgears.”

Also speaking, another beneficiary, Jayne Akoro commended ASHH in collaboration with the Women for Women International for selecting them as beneficiaries of the training saying that they have been well equipped to join the employment providers club.

Jayne Akoro said that “Most of us have already established links with people who need our services, we are now going to be employers of labour as we will get other people trained.”
