Armed Forces Day: Akin Alabi pays tribute to fallen heroes

Published by

Renowned entrepreneur, philanthropist, and member of the House of Representatives representing Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal constituency, Hon. Akin Alabi, has joined the nation in honouring the sacrifices and valour of Nigeria’s Armed Forces on the occasion of Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

In a poignant statement released on Monday, Alabi expressed profound gratitude and admiration for the members of the Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice.

He reflected on their unwavering dedication and valour while acknowledging the profound impact they had in preserving the peace and security of Nigeria.

Akin Alabi stated, “On this solemn occasion of Armed Forces Remembrance Day, we bow our heads in honour of those brave souls who gave everything for the sake of our country. Their sacrifices will forever be etched in our hearts, and we owe them a debt of gratitude that can never be fully repaid.”

As part of his commemoration, Alabi emphasised the importance of recognising the families left behind by the fallen heroes, stating that “while we mourn the loss of our heroes, we must also stand by their families, offering support and comfort. Their sacrifice extends to those they left behind, and we must ensure they are not forgotten.”

Hon. Alabi commended President Bola Tinubu for making the welfare of the families of Nigerian veterans a priority by releasing funds for them.

In his ongoing commitment to the welfare of military personnel, Alabi pledged to continue advocating for policies that enhance the well-being of servicemen and servicewomen.

He called on fellow citizens to join hands in supporting initiatives aimed at improving the lives of veterans and their families.

As part of his commemoration, Alabi will be participating in various events and activities organised to honour the Armed Forces, adding that he encourages individuals and organisations to contribute to initiatives that uplift and empower veterans.
