Arden & Newton win big at the 2021 Transform MEA awards

On Tuesday, Transform Middle East and Africa, the only global platform that recognises agencies and creative teams exhibiting exemplary work in brand strategy and development globally, celebrated brand and design agencies at a gala dinner held in Dubai.

Held annually in London, Dubai, New York, Shanghai, Stockholm, and Sydney, each entry for the 2021 edition was examined by a panel featuring TikTok, BMW Group, and Toyota UAE.

At the Awards, globally recognized as the “Grammy of brand industry, Arden & Newton, the Lagos-based brand strategy consultancy, emerged as the only African brand agency to win gold in the corporate rebrand strategy category, and two bronze awards in the “Best Naming Strategy” and “Best strategic or creative development of a new brand” categories.

At the well-attended dinner, Arden & Newton won the keenly contested prizes over global heavyweight nominees such as the international award-winning brand consultancy agencies Brand Lounge and RUYA.

Arden and Newton beat off competition from the latter, RUYA, the Dubai-based branding and design consultancy, to win gold in the “Best corporate rebrand following a merger or acquisition” category alongside Ardova Plc, an indigenous energy group operating in the downstream Oil and Gas industry in Nigeria.

Following its acquisition from Femi Otedola’s Forte Oil in 2019, Arden and Newton worked with the new acquiree to crafted a new name, Ardova, which won the bronze category for the “Best Naming Strategy” alongside Ardova PLC.

In other categories, Arden and Newton won the bronze category for the “Best strategic or creative development of a new brand” with Pitstop Lagos, Nigeria’s first cycling and wellness-themed restaurant.

“Tonight in Dubai, we made the whole of Africa proud. A small agency among global heavyweights won across three categories following our excellent work in brand strategy in the past year,” said Perez Tigidam, the Creative Director of Arden and Newton. “In the last ten years, we’ve been collaborating with companies, causes and countries to build excellent products and services. Tonight’s win is not just a win for Arden & Newton, Ardova or Pitstop. It’s a symbolic win for Nigeria.”
