APC LG congress: Late posting, distribution of materials delay exercise in Jigawa

THE All Progressive Congress (APC) local government congress is yet to kick-up in Jigawa State, as the election materials is still in Dutse, the state capital as of 2:00 pm.

Tribune Online gathered that the party members who were recruited to conduct the exercise were at the secretariat of the local organizing committee in the state located at government house stranded as the delegate from the party national headquarter to supervise the congress are still in their hotel.

Visiting the APC local government congress organizing committee secretariat by Tribune Online gathered that the Adhoc workers recruited for the conduct of the exercise were at the secretariat as early as 8:00 am.

Findings by Tribune Online revealed that some few members of the local organizing committee were also at the school in the morning, but the chairman of the committee, who also is the commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Alhaji Lawal Yunusa Danzomo arrived at the secretariat at around 12:30 pm.

The list and posting of the Adhoc workers were released at 1:15 pm.

It had been observed that the delay may not be unconnected with the party’s decision in the state which adopted consensus for today’s local government congress of the party in the state.

The decision was made public by the secretary of team sent from APC national headquarter to the state to supervise the congress.

Addressing members at the party headquarters in Dutse, the secretary, organising committee sent from the party national headquarter, Alhaji Haruna Muhamed said, the national headquarter is happy with the arrangement they found on the ground for the conduct of the congress.

He explained that, according to the party constitution, the congress and election of the executives can be done through voting or consensus while those who are eligible to vote are clearly stated by the constitution.

In his speech, the chairman, local organising committee, Hon Lawan Yunusa Danzom revealed that the party stakeholders have already chosen the executives through consensus to avoid any rancour.

He explained that the congress will affirm all those elected through consensus in accordance with the party constitution.
