APC is dead in Bauchi, engaging in campaigns of calumny ― PDP spokesperson

Published by

Main opposition political party in Bauchi state, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been described as a dead dog that can neither bark nor bite and therefore should rather think of a way to be revived than engaging in politics of bitterness and campaign of calumny against the ruling PDP in the state.

The assertion was made by the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in the state, Yayanuwa Zainabari while speaking exclusively to Tribune Online on Sunday saying that leadership crisis that engulfed the APC before and after the 2019 general election has consumed it rendering it a toothless bulldog in the political affairs of the state.

Yayanuwa Zainabari was reacting to a call by the APC on the State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir to resign from office because of the allegations by ICPC that it uncovered a land-linked to him said that the APC got it all wrong and therefore misfire by the call.

He explained that what the ICPC did was not new to them in the PDP because according to him, “in the history of Nigeria politics, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir is the most investigated politician in the country, they did everything possible to ensure that he did not participate in the general election but at the end he was vindicated by the same court”.

The politician added that, “go and check out and tell me which serving Governor has been embarrassed like Sen Bala Mohammed even though he enjoys constitutional immunity. We in the PDP know that there is a pseudo hand behind the development but in sha Allah they will be put to shame “.

In his reaction to the call by the APC on the State House of Assembly to commence investigation and probably impeachment process of the Governor, the PDP Publicity Secretary said that, “yes, the APC controls the Assembly but the members know what is right and they have displayed maturity and diligence in the performance of their political function since their inauguration, they have demonstrated that bauchi state is their focus and not political gains.”

While reacting to the ICPC claim, he described it as baseless and a deliberate thing to smear the good image of Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir as well as ridicule him before the general public stressing that time will tell because the Governor will be vindicated.

He said that, “as Minister of the FCT, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir excelled by changing the face of the FCT and made it a world-class capital of a country boasting that the present administration is building on what he did to transform the FCT adding that in course of his service to the nation he had cause to assist a lot of people but in line with due process and fairness.

The politician however declared that “as a private individual, Sen Bala Mohammed has the money to buy such land not to talk of his public service life where he rose to become a Director in the Federal Civil Service. The ICPC are just out to make him feel embarrassed but that will not deter him from working for the people of Bauchi State “.

Yayanuwa Zainabari then called on people of Bauchi State to disregard the ICPC claim and that call by the APC urging them instead to continue to support the administration in its resolve to move the state forward positively.

It will be recalled that Bauchi State Chapter of the opposition party in the state, All Progressives Congress (APC) had implored people of the state to join hands with it to protect the assets of the state and demand accountability from the government led by the PDP declaring that it has been vindicated over its opposition to the PDP led administration in the state.
